How come I download the trial version of the program when I've bought the full version?
The trial version becomes the full version when the purchased ID and Registration Number are entered in the menu item "Help|Registration". Another way of saying it is that the trial version becomes a registered version of the program.

What is a Budget Period?
This is the period of time determined that you will manage your budget. When setting up your budget you will be prompted to choose how often you want to manage your budget. The choices are weekly, every two weeks, twice a month or monthly. It can correspond to your pay periods or it does not have to be the same at all. For example, if you get paid every week but prefer doing your budget twice a month that will work just fine by setting up your budget to have 2 budget periods each month. On the other hand you can choose a budget period frequency of every week.

Even though calendar dates are provided they are simply a guide. In other words, you are not obligated to manage your budget on specific dates. Sometimes you may manage early or "late". The dates simply provide a framework or organization.

I need $300 for my car payment each month. If I've set up my budget to be done twice a month. What amount do I budget in the car payment category?
In this case you would budget $150. If you set it up to have a weekly budget period then it would be $75. If you set up your budget with a budget period frequency of once a month then it would be $300.

How come only the categories which have specific amounts assigned each budget period got money this budget period but none of the categories which get a percentage received money?
Percentages are only applied when you have income greater than the amount needed to supply the categories needing a specific amount. Categories with specific amounts required get first priority from the income.

Percentage amounts are based on the amount OVER what is necessary to cover all the specific amounts. For example: Income = $1000. You need $900 to cover specific budget items such as Rent and a Car Payement. This leaves $100 left over as "extra". If you have a category assigned to receive 5% then it will get $5.00 because the percentage is based on the $100 extra and not the $1000 total income.

It is possible to have an entire budget be just percentage based allocations or just specificallyl assigned amounts. You can also have the same category receive both types of allocations. A specific amount as well as a percentage.

The Help files have more details concerning these features.

What if I'm late managing a Budget Period?
Actually it will be quite common for many people to be "late" a few days and is not a problem. The program will only display the date of the current budget period but in no way enforces that the budget is managed on that date. Even if you wait until multiple budget periods have passed you can go back and catch up. Obviously, that is not recommended because consistent budget management is a large part of successfully controlling your money. Also, too much catching up can cause discouragement and for some a tempatation to stop budgeting. This is where personal discipline comes in and even the best systems are unable to enforce that.

Why is there no customer service department?
It isn't possible right now to have staff for this purpose.

What's the images option when using the budget creation wizard?
You can associate an image with a budget category. This means each time that category is highlighted on the budget screen an image will display in the upper right hand corner. It is optional and can be set up so some categories have an image and others do not. You can set a path to your images folder during the budget set up if desired. This will allow faster access to a folder with images later while setting up each category.
